Recently Cydia is begging to crash on me more and more often. It's to the stage now that everytime I install a source from the 'More Package Sources' on the home and refreshing the Changes it will close, as well as randomly every now and then. It's basically becoming unusable, and I'm not sure how to fix it :(

Not using a jailbroken device will greatly improve stability.

If you insist on a jailbroken device, this is just one of the many costs involved with using the iphone in a non standard way such as this.

Your entire post is a load of crap.

The OP should re-jailbreak.

Um.. The Cydia is from the Jailbreak, so it's not really a cost, more of a prize. It's just that I'm having problems with Cydia. No Jalbreak, no Cydia. Plus I like the Phone being *mine*, not Apples :)

The OP should re-jailbreak.

Yeah, I think I might... Or if the new FW isn't too far off, I'll wait 'til then.

this may sound stupid have you rebooted your phone? when cydia starts crashing i reboot my phone. everything is fine after that

At least I'm not the only one here... This has been going on for a week or so.. Hit refresh then crash. To resolve reboot iPhone and then open cydia and refresh. This works every time.

Reinstalled fine without crashing. Rebooted phone and have been browsing since. Also downloaded and installed xGPS with no crash. This seems to have fixed the problem for now.

Okay, I reinstalled Cydia this morning and rebooted. It is now almost 12 hours later, and still no problems! :D If anyone's having any problems with Cydia, don't Restore! Reinstall! :D

I'll post if I have any problems in the near future.

Oh, and Cydia is just updating atm, so I'll post if there are any problems after the update.

Edit 1: Oh, duck! :p Just crashed in Change Log for SBSettings... :(
Edit 2: Cydia now shows something like "Updating files" in the middle of the screen when I open it. Anyone else have this, is it just how it is in the latest version?

you act like restoring is no big deal. "hey just restore and reinstall"

i have alot of info and apps and tons of other **** .. i would not want to restore my phone..

Who said anything about restoring?? We were talking about reinstalling Cydia. You do that from within Cydia itself.

Update on my Cydia status: back to it's ol' crashworthy self. And I don't really like how it works after the update...

God, why is everyone telling me I should go and learn how to use Cydia? I do know.
