there is no point to keep both
I want to be loyal to cydia but the interface on icy is so much more polished... what to do what to do ...

keep them both? I prefer Icy - cleaner interface, more resources out of the gate, and I'm not staring at the iPhone waitihing for ads to load.

I use cydia when I want a bit more description / links etc.

I just JB`d last night and selected Cydia only. Do I need to re run to add ICY?

No, just add RipDev's repo in Cydia and you'll be able to download Icy. Search for RipDev on Google and you'll find the info.

We're giving RipDev another chance? Remember that horrible mess called "Installer", that's what Icy originated from. After I realized that, I quickly stop using it.

Then you're missing out. Really.

Lol. Yeah, your missing out on a lot of Safe Mode, SWODs, and a package manager that will never be what Cydia is. So go ahead, install Icy;)

Icy is so polished because it doesnt have to worry about substance, just looks as it piggybacks off of Cydia. RiPDev sucks

So are they essentially the EXACT same thing? Just cydia is more crowded and bothersome?

From what I understand, you cannot run Icy without Cydia (and all of it's components installed). But you can run Cydia completely fine without anything on your phone from RiPDev...

Right.. Because cydia doesn't piggyback off of apt.

The solution is to ditch both cydia and icy and use apt for your package management needs.
