hi guys, I'm in the middle of jailbreaking for the first time, and now I'm wondering which packages I might need, or should I just download things one by one?

The reason I ask is because I'm not familiar with the Cydia packages and what they contain?

You should definitely first install Cydia only, then install things one by one. Once you have Cydia, most packages have little descriptions you can read to see if it's something you'd be interested in. Also, install things one at a time and make sure each one is running stably before installing the next. That way if something goes wrong, it'd be easier to identify which package is the cause. Proceed with caution, and have fun exploring the possibilities of jailbreak. :)
