Last year I JB’d my iPhone 5 under iOS 6.1 and have left it at that.
I really despise the look and feel of iOS 7 but all the apps are being changed and more and more I am told I can’t install some app unless I “upgrade” to iOS 7.

Well I don’t want to do that but I am running out of options. I don’t plan to install it until all this iOS 7 / JB / MS stuff gets sorted out.

But when that time comes I’m going to have a problem, actually I’ve already had problems with Cydia purchases. Last year I bought apps through Cydia and it required me to have a faceborg account. At that time I did have one and I used it to make the purchase. I have since then deleted that account and it does not exist any more.

I do not have a faceborg account nor do I have a google account and I refuse to sign up with either of those parasite corporations.

What can I do to maintain my purchases and bring them forward to my phone after I install iOS 7? The faceborg account I used when I made the purchases does not exist any more and I will not re-create it. I object to being forced to have accounts on one of those two services for a multitude of reasons.

You gotta play by their set rules.
You refuse to use either of those verification methods then you will have to purchase your stuff all over again.
I don't think Saurik will bother wasting his time making individual exceptions for each a user that doesn't like google or facebook.

Can you even purchase anything on Cydia without logging in using Facebook or Google?

Seriously, this is crap. Forcing people to sign up with one of the two worst offenders in the war against privacy, to do business, is just wrong.

They have my GD credit card info, that’s far better verification of who I am than some BS social account which is easily hacked and are NOT verified ID methods.

I bought the apps with my credit card and I have a record of the purchases, not to mention, I have the apps installed on my phone. THAT is proof that I paid for them legitimately..

So b*tching about it will do no good, I’m SOL it seems. I refuse to create an account with FB or google under any conditions. So, the question now is, what happens if/when I make the change to iOS 7 ? Will my previously purchased apps survive the switch? (I refuse to call it an upgrade). Can I install 7.x over the 6.1 without losing my purchases? Or what about backing up and restoring?
Is there a backup process for Cydia things?

Thanks..

The OP has 3 choices
1) recreate the FBI account already used
2) buy the apps again
3) persuade Saurik to change the verification method just for them, I'm sure he wouldn't mind re-writing everything just to make it easier for someone who used a FB account to buy things once but now doesn't want too.

Take off the tin foil hat and make an account for either Facebook or Google. You're not forced to use them beyond logging in.

Exactly, I made a Google account just for Cydia. Now I give it to site that insist on having my e-mail address. Once I verify their links, I periodically log into the account to delete everything without reading them since no one of importance have that e-mail address.
