Forgive the newbie questions here...I just purchased an unlocked 2g iphone. New to the phone and have questions about cydia. I only use the basic functions of iphone, phone, text and 802.11 when browsing. Is it safe to just uninstall cydia? If I do uninstall Cydia will BootNueter (the unlock I believe) still remain? Just wondering how much data use Cydia utilizes to update it's sw lists. (trying not to use data as I have no plan... (and the chicken says cheep cheep cheap...) I don't see any need to load apps in the near future..

i believe it would uninstall the app you talk about too. i have never done it before, but i am pretty sure it would uninstall it. you can us poof to simply hide cydia, if thats what it bothers you.

the jailbreak will remain, cydia is only a delivery system for apps.

My suggestion, download poof and that will let you hid programs, hide cydia.

make sure you have an application launcher downloaded first tho so that you can get back to your hidden programs when you want.
