Well done moyank, somehow me thinks we need more female halflings in our party..they get the job done!

We have no idea on the health of the creature. We just know it's badly injured.

If @ravenvii gives me an opportunity attack on the creature then I will get 3 attacks (otherwise 2). You should probably heal and stabilize Portia. If you do, Portia will be up and can attack on her turn before the creature attacks. Veit (@twietee) should also guard Bart (not actually attack Bart unless he wants to :) ).

Note: While guarding Bart, Veit is still in melee combat with Bart and would be subject to a possible opportunity attack if Bart is still hostile if Veit did anything other than guard or attack Bart. Veit could risk it though and throw a quick heal on Dalo if Veit so decided.

Bart dropped his battleaxe - an opportunity attack sounds a bit much if he has to get it up first, no?

I like me heal Portia, Veit heals me. You beat on eyeball.

The critter has a unknown health? This may be the question of a too casual participant, but I'm so used to having an idea of opponent's health in some manner in most RPGs if not a level, then a color like red equals hard. Maybe I'm confusing this with a different game and we probably already discussed it before.

I like it this way - what I don't like is that I NEVER DEAL ANY ****ING DAMAGE! That's a HUGE flaw in this game.

Speaking of halflings: how does D&D deal with transgender operations? Askin' for a friend you know...

Very good point :).

In computer games, you always know their health. In all non computer RPGs, you never know their health other then a general description. Reading the description of the battle, @ravenvii indicated the the creature was very seriously hurt.

I finally hit the creature so you are not alone. Portia and Syllin are the main (practically only ?) damage dealers. On the dice roll, you have been doing poorly.

From experience (reattaching hands), you should realize that clerics handle all things medical / surgical. With a few ales under your belt, there is nothing a dwarf can not do :).

@Plutonius you cannot do an opportunity attack as the creature did not move out of range (did not move at all, actually).

---

Claus charges forwards with his rapier, and stabs the creature directly in the pupil --

***
AC of 15, you have +5:

Claus: 9
Claus: 13

The first fails, but the second succeeds, so it's 1d8 + 3:

Claus: 4

You deal 7 points of damage to the creature.
***

-- but the creature lurched backwards, and you only hit its eye with a glancing scratch. Surging with your remaining strength, you step forward with one more attack, stabbing upwards into the creature's belly. You nearly fainted from the scream of pain that assaulted your mind.

Portia, Bartholomeo, Creature, Claus, Dalo and Veit

@Huntn you're up!

Does that mean that the people who were fighting Bart and in melee with him when Bart was attacking could have casted a ranged healing spell on Portia or thrown axes at the creature instead of attacking Bart without incurring an opportunity attack ?

Yeah, pretty much. You only need to worry about opportunity attacks if you're moving away.

Would that be:
  • Spare the Dying- Touch. Stabilize character with zero HP (Cantrip)
  • Cure Wounds- Touch, heal = 1d8 + spellcasting ability modifier.
  • Healing Word- Ranged 60’ heal HP= 1d4 + spell casting ability modifier
Bifur CU Oval.sm4.png <I pick the highest healing spell I'm able to based on proximity and...> Here ya go Portia, a gulp of mending and strength along with a little euphoria to feel like more of a kick-ass assassin then you did before!

Thank you...

I gave out some incorrect advice this battle :).

That's ok. :p

That's ok. :p

I would throw a cure wounds to heal the maximum amount. You are next to Portia so you can touch her if she lets you :).

Can I kick away Bart's battleaxe?

I hope you are wearing steel tipped boots or that might hurt. I would probably specify what actions you want to take (heal Dalo and with what spell or attack the creature) and ask @ravenvii to move the axe while you are doing it.

"As Veit kicks the battle axe, the battle axe rolls a critical on Veit's big toe and Veit take 3 points of embarrassment damage :D" .

Sorry, lots of things to do.

> I'll kneel down and grab the battleaxe while looking at Bart, slowly talking to him - appeasement style. Reminding him upon the good tobacco we've shared an hour ago.

Then I'll cast healing wounds on Dalo.

Dalo touches Portia while Veit touches Dalo.

Not in that way -- take your minds out of the gutter!

***
Cure wounds is 1d8 + 3 for Dalo, and 1d8 + 1d8 + 3 for Veit (level 2):

Dalo: 8
Veit: 3
Veit: 8

So 11 to Portia, and 14 to Dalo. Happy times!

... did I say happy times?

So, who's next?

@Moyank24 looks like you're back up and kicking. Time to get the thing to close its eye -- for the last time.
