Maybe we should check out the door that doesn't seem to be occupied?
You are currently near the doors by yourself. Your choice: check out the other door, listen some more at the door where you heard something, or return to the group

I'll be traveling the next couple days so my internet access may be sporadic during the day.
Hopefully, Portia hears some more info at the door then she did initially (sneaky halflings).
Portia fails a perception roll, so she hears nothing.
@Moyank24 @Plutonius @Huntn @twietee @Scepticalscribe I'm back -- life got a bit crazy the last couple of weeks. It still has a potential to get even crazier so don't be surprised if I disappear again. But for now I'll try to see this dungeon through.
No problem. I figured something was up and hope things are going ok for you.
Do you figure this will end at the conclusion of this dungeon or will you try to run it until the end of the campaign (i.e. we rescue Veit's cousin) ?
Portia (@Moyank24), I think your choices are
1) Open the other door in the hallway.
2) Open the door where you heard all the voices.
3) Return to the group and tell us what you found.

I will run it through the end of the dungeon -- I owe you guys that much.
The rest of the game, we'll see. I think we (I) need a hiatus, because running this game is starting to feel like a chore. Too much rolling, not enough story (I don't fault you guys -- it might be the forum format that's impeding it)![]()
You don't owe us anything, just saying.
As for the game, I defo want out/hiatus after we've finished this dungeon. I agree about the forum format not working in favor of a d&d kind of game with a lot of micromanagement which just takes forever and is plain boring that way. (Not saying I didn't enjoy it but the time-stretching is unbearable imho).

"Let's open that door and get rollin'!"
This is a very casual affair so the time involved does not bother me as long as the participants stay interested enough to participate in a meaningful way. I think the key is mostly player interaction, not that it takes up that much time, but it does embody a casual obligation. How about a vote? If most of us are tired of this adventure, why not kill it now? Or reorganize into a new group, if there are people out there interested in continuing, @ravenvii as DM, how are you feeling about things and your role as ring master?
Who is still enjoying the game? I am.
Who would enjoy it more if everyone was engaged? I would.
Who wants to bail? I won't have any hard feelings if you do. Ultimately this can't be forced and remain fun.
Anyway... so, what's your next move guys & gals?![]()
Oh boy dis gunna b gud!@ravenvii, Quietly move the creature corpse in from of the door and prop it up. Then scrape on the door (noise) and move back to the main room and wait for an ambush.
Can one of us imitate the goblin (i.e. shout that he found adventurer bodies with lots of treasure and that he wants some of it) ?
With a roll, sure. But if the roll goes south... good luck. Can one of us imitate the goblin (i.e. shout that he found adventurer bodies with lots of treasure and that he wants some of it) ?
We could also run back where we came from and enter the mansion front porch style - they'll be busy in the basement.
(We may lock em in as well...)![]()
