In the last few weeks I've been having a problem with downloaded MP4 video files. I can play them and cast them directly to my HT via Chromecast just fine, but after downloading them to my computer, they have no audio. The video is perfect, but when I try to convert them, the conversion programs show no audio file.

I've tried converting them with several programs and different format, like MOV, but no audio.

Any ideas?

What application are you trying to open the mp4 files with?

If only one, have you tried various DIFFERENT apps?
Such as:
- VLC
- IINA
... etc.

I've tried a half dozen or more apps, including VLC. It just doesnt seen to have a sound attached. I've also tried several download extensions with Chrome, but most won't see the file to download.

Something new is going on with copy guarding and MP4 files.

Remember, I only have this problem with downloading. Playing from the original server work perfectly.

Are you trying to download video files (into mp4 format), and then convert them to audio only?

To what audio format are you looking to convert?

How about a link to video that you're trying to download?

I'd like to try it myself.

It's Unlocked (name) any of the Star Trek Discovery series via plex.tv
