Hi folks, I have acquired a processor(867) from a Quicksilver however the part number (820 1282) suggests that it may only be a 733. Anyway, whichever it turns out to be, the question is can I fit it into my DA 466???

They use the same plug on the bottom as the G4 upgrades you can buy from sonnet so I beleive it will work.

I tried to just swap them, and your correct, they have the same fittings but the computer would not boot up.

I would recommend going through the upgrade database on xlr8yourmac.com.

I've found that you may need a 12v ground to use a QS processor in an older G4, check the reviews on exactly what you'll need and how to do it.

To boot DA using QS processor, use a +12v or +5v cable attach to the 4th mount hole.

Hi

I have worked them many times over. +12v or +5volts works. DA have 3mount hole whereas QS have 4th. I clocked 733 to 933. Stable. Got yield of 95% of the stock 733. Only processor that I can clocked 3 clock tiers higher. Can't do with MDD though.
