My iPhone just died (yes its because i have been online all day with ios 7, so what?) and i'd love to finish the conversation i was having via an online integrated imessage system. they have brought everything else to icloud.com and they have brought imessage to os x, why not?

Because they don't want you to be able to use it from Windows.
 
Exactly because Apple is trying to sell Mac's and not Windows PC's.

i think they are more focused on the mobile market, with iphones being their most wide spread product and ipod and ipads close behind.
