How many here use DaFonts for "free" fonts?
How many here know if it is "truly legal" and "free"?
I need honest professional opinions.

Any free font site will have mostly garbage, probably a few non-legal options, and a few hidden gems scattered in there.

For some quality free fonts check out Lost Type Co-op, Exljbris, and The League of Movable Type.

Also worth mentioning that most legitimately free fonts are limited to non-commercial use. You're usually expected to stump up for a commercial license if you're going to use the font professionally.
