This just started the past week, I started getting emails from Apple first thing in the morning, daily, saying that my iCloud Storage is almost full and directs me to buy more storage.

Problem is, my iCloud storage (mostly taken up by my iPhone backup) has been the same for some time (4.7GB used out of 5GB). I have just under 300MB free and has been that way for months and my iCloud backup is happening nightly without issues.

What's prompting this annoying daily email warning all of a sudden? The email doesn't have anything in it that would allow me to unsubscribe or a way to opt-out of that warning.

Any help is appreciated.

The email is prompted because you only have 300MB (6%) free. New backups write over old ones.

Understood, but I've been at this level (<300MB free) for some time and never received these emails before and now they're daily. In any case, how can I opt-out of the warning emails? Do I simply delete enough stuff of my phone to free up over 300MB or some other threshold? I really don't want to buy extra iCloud storage, I've never needed more than 5GB.

Don't know how to opt out. Recommend contact Apple support for that answer. I think once you come up to a certain level, they'll stop pestering you. Just don't know if that's 8%, 10%, or some other magical number.

Thanks for the reply. I'm gonna first try to free up some space and see if the emails stop. I don't know who at Apple thought pestering customers with daily email advertising option to purchase extra storage was a good idea.
