Damaged apple screen makes "computer to tv hookup" impossible! please help!

so anyway my 24" white oldschool all-in-one desktop got it's screen damaged, but still works im guessing (still has normal audio when turned on).

Since the screen doesnt work and I'm trying to retrieve all my information, i decided to hook up my mac to my mitsubishi with hdmi hookup.

I cannot see the screen but i hear the generic tone once my apple is turned on and i try to press enter or y for yes.

I dont know the menus but i would like a walk-through since my screen is blank. Can anyone be of some help?

I think there's a key for turning mirroring on and off, maybe you can look for that.

If you can get access to another mac there's always FW target mode to get your files off...
