I'd hardly call it dark mode and anyway who stares at their wallpaper? I have windows open on 5 desktops and one full screen app. I haven't seen my desktop since ... eh .... I don't know :) all I do is swipe left and right switching between stuff.

That's why many translucent elements of Yosemite incorporate the colours of the desktop wallpaper. That's a pretty smart way to make wallpapers more important for personalisation, IMO. You still percieve the overall tone of the wallpaper even if its completely occluded.

Mine seems to set different wallpaper for different desktops so I end up with different colours poking through. It's kinda cool.

Dark Mode IS cool. What's not cool is that half of my apps have black icons so i can't see them in the menu bar, LOL.

Easy to knock out some inverted versions for ya - which apps?

Or maybe someone else already made the ones you're looking for:

http://www.obsidianmenubar.com
"there are several third party app icons included in Installer Content/Applications"

Don't install the menu bar hack, but check the icons to see if the ones you need are there. Good luck!

Oh, wow, thanks. Found one for Plex, Airserver, Flux! Still missing copyclip and shades (obscure app so i didn't really hope to find that one)
