Would love to see a dark mode in iOS 9 but I doubt it will happen. :(

Apple could give all the stock apps dark mode versions, and offer app developers ways to optimise their apps for light/dark mode operation as per the system setting.

They could have dark mode activate automatically at sunset, or a certain time of day. Apps where I wish dark mode was a thing particularly is Photos.

iOS 7+ is too white I feel, minimalist and clean but very stark especially checking a text in bed at night.

Yep. I agree. A dark mode would be great. We already see it on the Apple Watch App, Yosemite, and alittle bit in the itunes app store on the movies section. I could see Apple doing this. I hope they do this.

The Apple Watch App is a perfect example that they could easily do this for all their Stock Apps. What are they waiting for??

White helps save power on ips displays. If you use a lot of blacks than you'll reduce battery life.

I'm curious to find out if they will use OLED displays like the Apple Watch in the iPhone 6s; are they necessary for force-touch?

Oled is not necessary for force touch. Force touch only requires a flexible display. Which I believe is currently only available on oled displays.

Where does that information come from? As I recall any color uses the same power.

Yes, colors will use the same amount of power. But I assume the backlight would be dimmer when using a white interface vs a black one as more light is coming thru.

My guess is we'll see a dark theme next year when new iPhones use OLED displays. Though Android M has one. Do all Android phones use OLED displays?

That's a good guess.

No, most Android phones use LCD displays, the most common ones that use OLED displays are the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series.

Hmm...so I guess then Apple could introduce dark theme with iOS 9? I'm not expecting it but I don't think anyone expected it in Yosemite either so who knows.

I want a keyboard like the one you get when you enter your password in the AppStore.
