Dark wood skin! Retina MacBook Pro

the nice thing about the apple logo is that the light shines through all the edges of it.

Have to agree. The metal edges make it look very tacky, if it was a complete wrap it may look better. The wood is a bit...false looking though.
 
sorry lad, not having this one. always been a fan going naked. but, interesting look (top cover only).
 
Congratulations it's pretty nice

Personally I would've just kept the lid as you did it and removed everything elee because I think it looks a little strange with the silver rectangles for the speakers.
 
I like the aluminum feel look. But certain parts of this shines IMO. The only thing that would be cool if everything had the dark wood skin, for instance the speakers, which is impossible I know. I guess if they made a unibody dark wood skin macbook it would be awesome, but all the aluminum parts just look tacky with it. I guess I can dream though :D
