Just received my cpu today, but one area is darker than the rest. Is that normal for used cpus?
Thanks

Maybe it's just thermal paste + a finger print smudge, did you tried to clean it?

Whenever I've got second hand CPU, even if it's seem spotless, I like to clean it thoroughly with IPA, then apply a contact-cleaner or de-oxidant spray. If it's really dirty, some time in the ultrasonic cleaner.

Better spend some time cleaning then hours taking a MacPro6,1 apart.

thanks tsialex, this is my first time to buy used cpu, just want to make sure they are not burn marks. If the quality is ok, I don't need to return it
