I just received the MBP today 16/512.

Would someone try this simple test.

Apple Music - Stream any music from the net.

Play for 15 seconds, just Command-Q quit the Music app.

Do you hear a "crackle" on the speakers ? Unsure id SW issue or if I need to return

TIA

Suddenly stopping audio tends to have that effect on many speaker systems. Unplugging loud speakers have done that for decades. Man...people want everything to defy physics and be perfect these days.

ive tried using apple music and then doing command q and it just stops playing. I Have noticed though on mine sometimes a slight crackle when playing music occasionally. its a MBA M1 for reference.

Base MBA - Streamed ZZ Top - I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide (Live) 3/4 volume
Waited 15 seconds, went a few more, cuz ZZ Top
Command + q
It all went away man ...

No Rice Krispies (Snap - Crackle - Pop)

That was the first time I listened to the speakers. I always use with AirPods. Speakers are not that good.

I'm quite impressed with the speakers tbh.
Okay, to be fair ... I have persistent Tinnitus. It's loud across high frequencies, so I prefer a sound with thumping bass. This just sounds flat to me. Probably more me than the laptop. But the sound that comes from AirPods is superior to me and my Jacked up ears.

You kids out there who shoot guns, ride motorcycles, listen to loud music and go in Diesel boat engine rooms. WEAR HEARING PROTECTION!

know how you feel with the Tinitus. collapsed and smacked my head on concrete, and now I have it. I think I was just impressed how much better they sound compared to my old MBP
