Hi,

one of the reasons I still haven't upgraded to Catalina/Big Sur is that I'm one of the minority who really likes - and relies on - the Dashboard. As my current Macbook is slowly starting it's final stretch, I'm looking for alternatives to the Dashboard when I finally will have to get used to the newer macOS.

I am aware that many widgets can now we added to the notification center. But some can't. Particularly: stickies/post-its. I know there is a native stickies application within macOS, however, they're not really what I need, because:

1) I really rather not have that be an additional icon in the dock, as I'm already running a lot of programs simultaneously and space gets crowded.

2) the stickies are restricted to any one specific virtual desktop I had put them on. I use my Dashboard as an overlay, so can easily access it from any virtual desktop at any time, without having to go 'search' for my post-its among my numerous virtual desktops. They also don't disappear behind other open windows etc.

3) I don't want it as a widget in Notification center as there really is not enough space for numerous stickies/post-its and I don't want to have to scroll through other widgets until I'm finally 'there' etc.

Is there any third-party app available by now that I'm not aware of that emulates the original OS X/macOS Dashboard (preferred) or at least the stickies/post-it option as an easily accessible overlay?

Thank you!
