When I clicked on the Dashboard icon, four widgets would float onto the screen; calender, weather, clock, and dictionary. After playing around with things (?), this no longer happens. Does anyone know how to restore this feature? Thanks.

When you open Dashboard, click the little plus (+) sign; this opens the widget browser.
Click and drag any of widgets to the to the main area.

If you didn't get that, watch this.

Did you remove the widgets form drashboard? If so, click the plus sign on the bottom left of the screen and re-add them by dragging them upward.
