Most likely will be going from an XS to 11 pro. I’m a newbie at stuff like this so bare with me please. Heard there’s a thing called Data migration where I can transfer stuff from my xs to 11 pro? How would I do that? I will be paying for my 11 pro in full so it will be unlocked. Would I just take the sim out of my xs and put it in my 11 pro? And would my xs have to be off before i take my sim out? Any help would be appreciated:)

Data migration is the process of extracting, and transporting data from one storage system to another. In your case XS to 11 Pro or from a iCloud backup. Your carrier can assist with this process.

There is no data on your SIM card, but you can transfer your telephone service to the new iPhone without carrier help by moving over the SIM card yourself. If you don't do that you'll need your carrier to transfer your service from the old phone to the new phone.

To transfer your data, it's very simple. Follow Apple's instructions:
