Database for Macs / Palm

I'm starting a small biz (small budget) And am looking for a contact / client database that will run on the Mac but also sync with a Palm. Right now all I have going is Entourage - which I am told can sync to a palm - and I could make it work ........ but its not quite as configurable as I would like (i.e. custom data fields / formats)

Anyone have any suggestions on programs that fit the bill ??

I have a good friend who swears by ACT, but I can't confirm it's Mac compatible. You might surf the site (it's 5 a.m., sorry) and see what you can find. Tons of integration and self-design.
