can anyone recommend d a simple to use database program that I can use as a home database program for storing items for insurance, etc. ideally it would also have an iOS app as well.

Thanks.

Excel is not so awful.

I'd say Numbers, but I've had that choke on me when I dump more than a few thousand items into it,

Take a look at Tap Forms:

https://www.tapforms.com/

I use to use Bento back in the day and kept using it for some time after it was discontinued. I finally selected and switched to Tap Forms when version 5 came out last year. Highly recommended.

For personal use I use Home Inventory by Binary Formations, it's been available for over a decade and they offer apps on the MAS (paid) and iTS (free companion).

Keep in mind that some insurers offer resources for their clients, but I want to be sure I can get my data out of their web portal if I change providers (even though I've been with them for over 30 years now…).
