I'm a "late to the party" jailbreaker. I have an iPhone 5 (32 Gb) that I never upgraded past 6.1.2. I jailbroke it about 6 months ago and for the most part, I have been happy that I did that.

I'm not a big app person, compared to many, and as such, I don't have many apps installed on the box, either from the App Store or Cydia. I do have a lot of the command line utilities installed though.

The primary reason I jailbroke, and hope to stay so, is the ability to have OpenSSH running, and to be able to easily add/remove/pull/modify files. Its awesome to be able to get to the core Mac OS X operating system on my phone and be able to do thing.

The problem I have, is the date & time screen (from setting) is continually popping up. Some days this is very frequent. Other days not so much. I can be in the middle of using an application, and the date & time screen will pop up.

Some times an incoming call will trigger it. Frequently, when the phone is off (not fully powered down), the date & time screen will turn the phone on. I have a passcode set on the phone, and the date & time screen seem to be able to supersede even that. A couple times, I have gone to bed with a fully charged phone on my night stand, and woke up the next morning to find that my phone turned itself on to the date & time screen some time in the night and that the battery is almost dead.

I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this and if there is a fix?

I would like to stay on ios 6.1.x, but if there is no fix for this, I would rather jump to 7.x + Jailbreak now, vs waiting and get stuck on 8, then waiting for a jailbreak to become available.

Thanks for any comments.

I have no idea how to help you, but I'm jailbroken on 6.1 and my wife is jailbroken on 6.0.1. Both of us have the iPhone 5.

I've never seen this and never had that happen and I can say the same for my wife, otherwise I would have heard about it. Is it possible to get a screenshot?

I was afraid someone was going to ask this. I thought about posting it as part of the original post, but then, its just the date & time settings, no different from anyone elses. This screen shot, is obviously from about a month ago, given the 11 July time stamp on top.

What tweak do you have that is putting the time and date in your statusbar?

Is that StatusModifier? Have you updated it? Have you updated Cydia and all the essential stuff that happened a few months back?

What happens if you remove the tweak that puts the time and date in your status bar?

Hello Eyoungren,

Thanks for your reply, please see inline comments.

I will put a list of all Cydia installed items at the bottom of this post.

Is that StatusModifier? Have you updated it?

no, according to my list, I do not have StatusModifier installed

Have you updated Cydia and all the essential stuff that happened a few months back?

Not certain. I only installed this a few months back. I would comment that everytime an update is notified in the "Changes" icon at the bottom of Cydia, I have installed that update.

At the bottom of the Cydia home screen, it indicates iPhone5,1 iOS 6.1.2, Cydia 1.1.12(en-us)

from the Cydia icon -> installed button of the bottom of Cydia, then choosing "expert" from the bar across the top, this is a list of what I have installed from Cydia.

Well, ok. I don't know enough to do more than ask questions. I don't see anything in that list that might be causing the problem, but again, I don't know.

Hopefully someone who knows more can help.

Thank you for looking anyway.

I am kind of at a point where this is annoying enough that I am about ready to upgrade to 7.x.

If I can't fix this, I want to be able to get to something I can jail break prior to the 8.x release.
