So I'm just getting into video editing and I'm looking for some advice on what software I should go with. I know once you pick one you really tend to stick with it so I'm just wondering which one I should go with. I'm willing to pay the money for either or. Maybe some pros and cons of each to make my mind up?

Thank you!

I love Final Cut. But I also love Resolve. I’m a Final Cut person myself, but DaVinci is really good. With DaVinci Resolve though you can get away with using the free version for a large amount of work, so you might want to just start there.

I’d say Final Cut is better if you want to focus on the art and editing and not care so much about the technical details.
DaVinci will require getting more into configuration and such at times

Resolve is better for color work since that’s where it has its roots; It was originally just for colorists. Final Cut has a better core editing workflow IMO and a more intuitive UI. It also has more widespread support for plugins and such, but that’s really close between them.

You won’t really go wrong with either I’d say. Both excellent.
