Just looking for suggestion for another Journal app. I have over 25,000 entries in Day One and would mot want to lose them. This is just a precaution just in case. I have tried Diarly and Diarium. There not bad and import Day One fine. Just looking for anything else.

Maybe you can just export and store locally your Day One data and wait to any announcement before making the switch? Even if Day One was shutting down (which I doubt), they would give time to their customers to transition to another platform, you wouldn’t loose instantaneously your data

Just in case of what? The announcement I got said that Day One was sold but that they would continue to operate as before. The same people are involved as before. The only difference is that governing law is now that of California rather than Utah. For end users, there will be no difference.

If I had something important that was only stored in one place, in a format I couldn't easily backup, I'd be worried about the lack of backup. Single-point storage and no way to get your data out (or back in) seems like a disaster waiting to happen.

But, you can export everything in JSON, plain text, CSV, or PDF format. What other sort of backup would you like?
