Just had a Mindfulness alert go off at 10:10 instead of its preset time of 11:10. Went into Settings and, sure enough, it had also reset my 2:10 alert time back to 1:10.

Has this been fixed in newer Watch OSs?

I'm on 8.8.1 with an Apple Watch 7.

The time on the watch face has been fine since early morning hours ago.

It properly adjusted itself back an hour (“Fall back”), but it definitely shouldn't be messing with preset alert times!

Wonder whether it does the same to Reminder and Calendar alarms!

A follow-up. After I posted my message, I went to change my alert times back to what they should be.

Sure enough, the Mindfulness alert shows it having been reset to 10:10, but then something weird happens. When I click on the alert time, it comes up as set to 11:10, not 10:10. Strange!

I then tappad the checkmark, but when it went back to the alert screen, it still showed 10:10. Stranger!

Same issue with the 2:20 alert that shows as a 1:10. But, even weirder, when I rotated the crown to change the time, scrolled to 4:10, back to 1:10, then finally to the correct 2:10 time, and tapped the green checkmark, it went back to the setting screen and still showed a 1:10 time!

In other words, it won't even let me change the time of the Mindfulness alert!

These bugs may have been covered before, but my admittedly cursory searches here on Daylight Saving, DST, and Mindfulness turned up nothing. A general internet search might provide an answer.

For now, it looks as if I'll have to create two entirely new alerts to replace these stubbornly wrong ones. No biggie, but such bugs could catch people off guard.

Sorry for replying to my own posts, but it turns out that any new Mindfulness alerts I set ends up being set for an hour earlier than what I picked. ‼️

Perhaps Mindfulness alerts (and even other alarms — Reminders and Calendar) require phoning home to overcome these bugs… I rarely connect my watch and iPhone, but that will be the next try…

In any event, the Watch should never change alert or alarm times from what the wearer set them for!

What possible rationale could there be for doing that?

P.S. If I have any more updates, I’ll append them to this post rather than add yet another one!

——————

Reconfirmed that the bug persists even after setting a new Mindfulness alert. It's always an hour earlier than the time I set.

P.P.S. Several days later, without having connected to the iPhone, the alerts started working again.

Weird!

So, anyone else experienced an issue with DST and alerts?

So, here I am a year later and this same problem is occurring! See above for details.

What a nuisance!

It makes no sense whatsoever.

I've since tried disabling and enabling the Mindfulness reminders; changing time; connecting Watch to iPhone; rebooting the Watch and the phone; etc.

I even tried deleting the reminders, and adding a new one. For example, 3:30. However, it schedules it for an hour earlier! That is, for 2:30!

Has this been fixed in later Watch OSs?

Anyone know how to get the times to display properly with iOS 8?! (8.8.1 latest)

——————————————

As noted above, both the Watch and iPhone fell back an hour as they should when we go off DST. But there's no excuse for changing alert times — or for the scheduled time to be an hour earlier than what one set it for!

——————

P.S. So, I set up 3 new Mindfulness reminders on the iPhone, deliberately setting them for one hour later than I wanted. They came over to the watch fine and now when I tap on one on the Watch, the scheduled time and the time when you look to change it are the same.

But, on the iPhone? They still differ by an hour…

Jobs: “It's that simple.” 😉

Apple: “It just works!” 🙈

You are on an old OS.
What I can tell you is that my alarms (alarm clock/app on my watch) is the same and I do not recall ever having to adjust for DST.

Have you contacted Apple for this?

What about people's experiences with Mindfulness alerts?

Certainly wouldn’t upgrade just to fix this — I’m much too wedded to the single-click access to the Dock, especially the slide up to bring up the Control Center, and the large buttons, easy to turn off the watch screen. Later OSs were setbacks in GUI for me — and appear to be battery hits.

Still, I’d like to know if the scheduled Mindfulness reminders are handled properly by later OSs…

Oh, also wanted to post a follow-up.

One day later, the issue resolved itself on both the AW 7 under Watch OS 8.8.1 and the iPhone SE 2016 under 15.8.3!!

The times are now right. They are also the same on both screens now — both the one showing the list of scheduled reminders and the one when you enter to change it.

So the solution is patience! “Suffer” through one day of Mindfulness alerts being late by an hour, but it will fix itself after 24 hours!

One wrinkle. Given that I deleted and recreated them yet still had the hour off problem, it could be that step is necessary for this to resolve itself a day later. However, the problem did not happen for Spring Forward meaning either the bug isn't there or I simply didn't pay any attention to it!
