iPhone X dbrand - removing take off space gray finish on iPhone X?

I had a clear skin for my X from bestskinsever and removed it when I sold it. I noticed when I was putting it in the box it looked scratched which confused me since it was in the skin since new. I then seen the piece of space gray on the clear skin I just removed. I ordered a dbrand for my new max but I’m a little scared to put it on and when I remove it the finish come off again. Has anyone removed a dbrand skin and the finish come off too?

its adhesive. Thats on long enough and heated up by the temp of the the phone repeatedly. The PVD coating is scratch resistant, so its not crazy to think that that skin adhesive could eventually strip some of it away when removed.
