Is it just me, or is the Dual Core 2.0 a better value than the Dual Core 2.3.

I placed an order for the DC 2.0 and upgraded the video card to equal the 2.3's for $45, and I'm trying to justify cancelling and going with the 2.3, but it seems that I'd basically be paying $455 for .3 speed increase and 90 gigs of space (I'll probably replace the HD ).

Please, let me know if I'm wrong, or if the .3 increase is that important, as I do quite a bit of video work (I do Mini DV, no SD or HD). I used a Dual P. 2.0 before, but had to sell it months ago.

I'm comparing this to the last go-round, where the big knock on the low-end was the crippled motherboard, which isn't the case this time. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this, but maybe I'm missing something.

Thanks again. It's good to be back in the fray after several months without a Mac.

I think your right. I'm either going with the dual 2.0, or all the way to the quad. Dont see the benefit of the 2.3 for the price.

15 percent faster clock speed would be reflect in programs like Albeton Live that are speed thirsty more than data thirsty.

Everything you say you dont need now, you cant just add later, in the cpu arena.
