Why, WhY WHY, WHY did apple change around the DCIM folder in windows explorer? It's now split into two seemingly random file names.

I'm trying to keep my iPhone images in one folder on my computer, and apple springs this **** up, halfing my images into two folders.

wtf

Not sure what kind of response you're expecting - no one here will be able to answer "Why" Apple does some things.

Yes, it happened to me once I upgraded my iPhone 4 from iOS 4.3.5 to iOS 5.

Perhaps they wanted to come up with unique mangled names due to Photostream? There could be interesting filename conflicts from multiple iDevices w/o some other unique bits tacked on.
