HI,

Can I install RAM PC3L 16G DDR3L 12800 on a late 2013 iMac a1418 EMC2368, or it has to be RAM PC3 16GB DDR3 12800?

thx in advance!

You can use low-powered RAM (I think 1,2v) in normal DDR3 slots (1,5v) but not the other way around.

But as the previous members have posted - it may not work or only half of the RAM will be usable in the end.
EveryMac says 16 GB is the total maximum.

1. DDR3L use 1.35V but still compatible with 1.5V
2. 16GB DDR stick will not be recognized as half size. It will not be recognized at all and the iMac will beep to indicate that there is no memory installed.
