The other day I finally got my computer that I built up and running. Brand new motherboard, processor, memory, power supply, and graphics card. It was up and running great for about 36 hours before my ipod classic (ipod photo) committed suicide and took my new computer with it. I plugged it in cause I thought the battery was dead and to sync it with the new computer. It was plugged in for about 20-30 seconds before I started smelling electrical stuff burning. Then my computer died and wouldn't turn back on. I opened it up and I could see the burn on my brand new motherboard (which I have pictures of). To make it worse my ipod wasn't working either so I took that to the apple store the next day to get it looked at. They told me "This ipod is looking pretty unhealthy." It would cost $250 to repair it, so now I am out an ipod and a computer. I got the motherboard from newegg.com and luckly they are going to replace it since I had it for a week, and as for my ipod, RIP. It was a good 5 years worth of service. I was looking to get an iphone in June/July when the new one comes out, and now I have more reason to buy it.

I know its a little late, but here is a picture of the 1394 chip that was burnt by my now dead ipod classic (ipod photo)
