My M4 iPad Pro 13” was left on charge last night, on my ESR 7-1 base, woke up this morning it was still plugged in showing 90% charge
unplugged it and plugged it back in and it failed acknowledge it was plugged in

Did a force restart and on restarting still wouldn’t charge or acknowledge it was plugged in again

Then the iPad powered down and now it won’t power up and no sign of any life

Any ideas take it knackered for some reason

Easiest to do with Apple Configurator, shows on the screen "DFU" when achieved.
The M4 series iPad Pros are pretty finicky about getting in DFU mode, not to mention the finger dance.
The timing is pretty tight. It may take you 10 - 20 times to get it right.
Do not follow the 10 second recommendation, try several times at 5 - 7 seconds.

update

Just been to an Genius appointment

At first he tried saying it has 2 slight bent pins in the USB C port, cleaned it but said with USB C even if one side is knackered the other side would still work. Data transfer was still working though
Then it also failed to charge via a magic keyboard
It could be a software issue with B7 of iOS
The device also refused to enter DFU and randomly restarted itself so it’s been sent away for inspection

Are they going to repair/replace?

Apple will look after you. Did you have AppleCare, and did you buy it from Apple direct? (Either in store or online)

yh direct from Apple and also have AC+ but hopefully they replace it for free. I am in the U.K so it’s down under consumer law than a AC+ claim

Update is there anyway I can find out what caused it
