Hey everyone
So I have an iPhone 5 16GB which is unfortunately not working.
I dropped it a few times although you can't see that on the housing. It looks brand new. But what I began to notice is that it began to turn off by itself. At first it happened rarely but as the time went it happened more often. 2 weeks before it died completely it turned itself off maybe 10 times a day which made it unusable. And one day when I was using it while it was plugged in (the only way to make it work) I thought I would take out the cable for experimental purposes it died as soon as I took it out.
So I plugged it in again and it booted up (I thought)
The apple logo was on the screen but after 15 seconds the screen started flashing in green, red, grey and other colors and then turned black and after some seconds the apple logo was back. It was in an bootloop.
You will probably think why I just didn't go to the apple store and got it replaced. Well, my warranty is over and also my statutory warranty. Thats why I cant complain for getting a bad product. I tried several times but the only answer I got is we can offer you an replacement unit for 320$ which is not worth it for an 4 year old phone.
Back to the phone, at apple they did check it and they said the motherboard is bad. I have tried to restore with dfu and without, with recovery and without. But always get one or another error.
Has anyone encountered something like this? I dont expect to be able to fix it although its sad that an 2 years old iPhone lies on my table dead (2 years old because its my THIRD replacement unit during warranty)
Anyway, share your stories with me if you have any
Have a great day!!
