Well that didn’t take long. I was using my phone as normal and it just shut off. I didn’t think it was a huge deal because I’ve had phones restart unexpectedly in the past. This time was a killer as my new iPhone x won’t get past the apple logo. Contacted apple and was told to plug into iTunes and try a restore. The problem is iTunes won’t even recognize it. Not too happy to have a dead phone after 2 days.

Fortunately you're able to get a new one. If you can check with your local Apple Store, they usually carry replacement devices in store for defective units and you could have one relatively quickly.

I sure hope I can get a replacement quickly. I was worried about that due to short supply.

You should be able to get a replacement in store. If you don't have a store near you or you can't get a replacement in store for whatever reason, Apple can also ship you a new iPhone next day, which they also keep replacement units set aside for issues such as yours.

My touchscreen completely broke today, i can't use the phone anymore. Do you think my local (UK) Apple Store will have replacement models tomorrow? I have a genius bar appointment booked.

Well apple is sending me a new one. Should be here in 2 days so just hoping it last longer than the 1st. I had to pay again but it’s just a hold until they get the defective device. I’m just hoping this doesn’t go against one of the AppleCare replacements as it’s a manufacturer defect.

What did they do to fix it?
Nothing I couldn’t have done i guess, but out of the nowhere my screen would turn on and i saw messages coming through but I couldn’t get it to work, the volume button and sleep buttons worked but thats all. After an hour the screen died. It would not turn on but i hear my notifications coming in. There is in Apple across the street from me but I decided to go on the chat since there were no appointments available. She asked me to quit itunes connect it to the pc press volume up release, press volume down and release and then hold the sleep button and it restarted and now it works just fine.
