My mac mini (intel core duo) started misbehaving about 2 weeks - it often wouldnt switch on and it wouldnt wake from sleep.

I took it to the local Apple reseller, who took a day to diagnose a faulty motherboard, and now I have to wait for a new board to be shipped into the country.

By the time I get it back, it'll have been gone for 10 working days.

I've tried every way I can to get an email address of someone in Apple USA (or europe) to ask them if they think this is acceptable, but of course, not been able to find such an address.

Those of you living in more mainstream places - what would you consider acceptable timing? Do any of you have any suggestions for getting hold of Apple people?

What also amazes me, is the intel mac minis are flying off the shelves here - it astounds me that they dont have a basic stock of repair items..

Ask them. not sure if it's going to do much, but you can contact them and I'm sure they will provide you with an email address or forward your comments.

10 days is not that bad. Honestly, if they have more in stock I would have asked for a replacment right away, if you need data of your current mac mini then I would hold out and wait the 10 days as it's taken about that to mail out and service my HP laptop.

I did ask for a replacement mac and was told they'll only replace within the first 14 days.

My point of contention is that they dont carry basic stock of replacement parts.

At first they tried the ol' "you installed Boot camp, therefore no warranty for you" routine - happily a quick reference to the apple site proved that to be wrong.

I guess I'll have to sit on my hands
