Hi, I recently bought a macmini while i was living in the Canary Islands, Well actually about a month ago.
I'm now living in the Greek Island of Rhodes.

I finally got round to buying a monitor today, pluged my Mac Mini in and after an hour of watching internet TV, the Mac restarted itself and then went dead.

Tried a different power cable to no avail. Gutted, havent even used if for four hours.....

Apple support isnt great in Greece either....

What is the point of your post?

He's trying to find out what has happened, and if anyone else can shed any light on what might have happened.

Not being mean but doesn't take a rocket scientist to work that out :/

As for a solution, I'm not sure what has happened. Was the power socket, surge protected? Have you got another power cable you could borrow off a friend?

tried another power cable, looking for ideas that i might have missed! Tried holding the power button, waiting for 10 secs....

No Apple store here! There is a chain called multirama.gr that sells Mac's gonna pop in on Monday.

Your best bet is to phone Apple and see what they say. Chances are you'll have to send it in for repairs, sorry to hear about your unlucky experience..

any ideas how long it will be gone for if they send it away?

Unfortunately I cannot give you any advice on that, I've never been in a situation where I've needed a repair by apple.. yet *knock on wood*

I'd imagine they'll give you a fairly good estimate over the phone as to how long the whole process may take.

Depends on what is broken, what parts they need and how far the service center is. Few day to a couple of weeks. As with any computer repair.
