Original revision 1 Mac mini - 1.25 Ghz G4, 80 GB HD, 512 MB RAM, pre-ordered the same day as the keynote she was announced. Died of bad logic board. She was only 2.5 years old, but because she did not have insurance (Applecare), she could not afford the expensive medical treatment to repair her logic board, and she passes away in the summer of 2007.
I had it diagnosed by a genius at the Apple store $400 to fix. Why, oh why, did I not get Applecare on a rev 1 Apple product - I know better. I won't make the same mistake with my iMac next month.
Anyway - what are these things good for with a bad logic board? It was fun to take it all apart to see how all the pieces fit together. I moved the RAM into my G4 PowerMac. The CD-RW, and HD are practically not worth the effort of selling them on ebay. The case may have some interesting functions - maybe turn it into a external HD enclosure.
Any other ideas?
