I manage to request a new MacBook Pro (SR 2.4 Ghz) after finding out there's something wrong with my logic board. I requested a glossy screen this time.

1. For those with dead pixel, are yours matte or glossy screen?

2. Would the replacement MacBook Pro be refurbished or
new, coming from China or US?

3. Apple recently replaced the 85W MagSafe Power
Adapter with a smaller size version (Part number:
MA938LL/A). Would my replacement come with that new
adapter? Or the old bulky one?

Any input is much appreciated!

1. A guess, but I don't believe you will find any discernible difference in dead pixel counts between glossy and matte.

2. I think most if not all are manufactured in China. Whether you get new or refurbished would really depend on what Apple has available I suppose. Either way, you should receive a machine in perfect condition.

3. I very much doubt you'll receive the smaller adapter, it isn't even shipping yet and I dare say Apple has plenty of old stock.

I just called apple store in Bellevue, WA. They said if I buy MBP from them now, they only have the old power adapter in stock. If I buy from Apple.com, it should be the new smaller adapter.

Can i believe her?

I have to ship my faulty MBP in yet for exchange. I wanna wait as long as it takes for MBP to come with the new adapter. That why, I'll asking now. If i know for sure that new MBP comes with smaller adapter, I'll send in this faulty MBP and I should be able to get the new adapter when they send the replacement MBP.

Are you really that bothered about the adapter? You didn't buy a MBP with a small adapter, so if you're trying to fluke one as part of your replacement then it's going to be no-guarantees-pot-luck. You could always just buy the new, smaller adapter at some point in the future if it's that much of a big deal? Seems like a pretty silly thing to delay returning your computer over...

Except they're $80 which is a bit much for a smaller version of something you already have. I think a lot of people in similar situations are hoping for the new one too. I called in about mine making sizzling sounds and was told a replacement would be sent but it hasn't come for nearly two weeks now - kinda hoping when it does it'll be the smaller one. One can always hope.

I heard about someone getting their MBP last week that had the smaller one.
