I just went and bought my imac yesterday and was happy until i was browsing the forums and noticed a dead pixel.
However i don't think its dead.
It only appears on white or green back drops. on Blue red and black its not there. so im assuming its only stuck.
Im running Pixel fix and i plan on running it for an hour while i go do some errands.

Anyone else had any experience with this?
Does this sound like a stuck pixel? and if so what else can i do if this
fails to work?

All the Samsung LCD monitors I've bought in the past usually had 2 or 3 stuck pixels which I've been able to fix by just gently rubbing the screen with a cleaning cloth, the problem with iMac is that it has the glass in the way...and my last iMac which I got in '09 had a stuck pixel which I had to take back.

You could try removing the glass covering and gently rubbing the pixel but the problem with that is dust might get in when you try to put it back.

2560x1440 and ONE of those pixels is bothering you? :p:D

yes it bothers me i paid enough money for a new machine for it to not have faults.....and i know its there :p its hard to ignore

As for pixelfix i ran it for 4 hours on the area affected on my screen and it seems to have shrunk the area affected but i still know it there...

Mind you im not keen on removing the front panel when i only bought the machine yesterday.

Il give it a month and see if it ware's off i'm confident its simply stuck and dead and im sure with the amount of use i'm going to give my imac it will have ample time to sort itself out.
