Great price. Never purchased from B&H but this is a great computer for that money. I love mine. Base spec is terrific for light use - I bought instead of an iPad and I'm super glad.

This is the way if you qualify for education discount. I’d rather have the money off than a gift card, but it’s a great way to go.

$900 is actually less than I paid for a used one last year before the price drop. Smoking deal for this computer.

For those in the fence, if you need one now just get it - don’t listen to the naysayers who talk about lack of RAM and slow SSD. This is a powerful little machine that will cope with everyday computing with ease. And at this price you won’t need to keep it forever so don’t worry about future proofing with specs you don’t need. It will give 5-years of joy easily.

I personally suspect we won't see M3 until spring. Apple seems to be depending on the supercycle of iPhone 15 and the Apple Watch to take them up to March of 2024. They will then introduce likely some punchier colors of the iPhone 15, the sought after Red iPhone 15 Pro and iMac M3 and iPad M3. They then launch M3 Pro/Max/Ultra Macs at WWDC.

Don't want the measly 8GB? Pay $400* more for an extra 8GB ram.

Not going to talk about the slower HD but I don't mind the 256GB since you can get an external with many TB cheap to archive your stuff. But 8GB RAM is embarrassing, specially how cheap they are. And to not being able to upgrade shows their greedyness.

Apple won't see a dime from me if they expect to sell a 8GB RAM laptop in 2023. They can get away because you have those guys who will defend Apple saying it's a good device for 90% of the people.

*cheapest M2 model with 16GB is $1300.
