Dear God what is wrong with my display (HELPMEc)

Just started doing this a few hours ago.
Its definitely not the actualy physical display, because the craziness shows up in a screenshot. (see below).

And When I have a window open, or Safari, or iChat, those windows are unaffected, and even cover up the craziness in the background. And on bootup it doesn't show it either.

I tried switching my color settings back and forth as well as my resolution or whatever.
What the hell? It also has a big square of it next to my pointer too (which doesn't get captured in the screenshot.

What's the actual problem?You mean the glare/whiteness?

Video card might be cooked, or at least having some other less serious problems.

What exactly is the problem? The black cloudy thing bottom left?

What is your usual desktop image?

Is this a portable or a Desktop machine?

Is this an LCD or a CRT monitor?

What OS are you running?

What are the specs of your Mac?

Has the monitor/laptop been dropped recently?

Are there any other problems?

Do you not see the black lines and junk all surrounding my icons on the desktop, and in the dock? and acorss the top of the desktop picture, and around the icons at the top right of the title bar?

No it has not been dropped. it sits on my desk.

I just ran the hardware test thingy disc that came with it, and it said there was a problem with Video RAM. Gave Error code: disp/13/2 if that means anything to any of you.

It does it for any desktop background..

It's not easy to tell video anomalies from compression "noise" at that size image.

OK. If the Apple Hardware Test calls it a VRAM problem you're going to have to have it worked on. The AHT CD is fairly general so if it catches a problem, it's relatively pronounced.

It's a TiBook so it's out of warranty. Most likely this'll run you $300.00 or more unless you're keen on digging the right revision part out of the 'net and getting up to your elbows in PowerBook. The TiBook isn't all that newbie friendly so I'd recommend having it done by someone who's comfortable in that little case. If you were in the SC Ca. area I'd offer you my services but I see you're on the other side of the continent...

If you have AppleCare you still have about 8 weeks. This is why I always tried really hard to sell AppleCare on PowerBooks... Pretty much any problem will cost at least as much as the AppleCare.

Sorry for the bad news bro....
