And incorporate its pen technology into Ipad,(the next version woth hopefully full mac osx) along with its current touch capabilities.

And I for one will just throw all of my pc related equipment into the trash, and Totally go Mac on everything, especially if I could use my pen on a macbook pro.

And since you would own the rights to said technology you could lease it to the pc makers who will be immediately trying to copy said idea into their own equipment.

And I think Wacom touch technology is far inferior to what Apple already has.

I would love an additional sensor array layer on the iPad to allow Wacom stylus input for the ipad.... it would be a great addition for photographers, and would allow for a whole new category of photo editing applications.

As a stop gap, I wouldn't be opposed to being able to pair my bluetooth Wacom tablet with the iPad.

I love the iPad as it is right now, but this would be the icing on the cake for me

In the 10 (or whatever) years of tablet speculation, that surely has never been less likely, the iPad effectively killing that dream completely. Not a dream I ever had I might add, a full os on a tablet is a thing of nightmares for me.

If they can plug in a Wacom device, would they not draw on the device rather than directly on the iPad screen? Does the OP mean the latter?

As a product desinger i use my ipad daily to sketch out rough ideas on sketchbook pro using a ten one stylus. I would prefer the functionality of the wacom styluses as they offer an improved 'feel' when sketching and also alow for the other end of the stylus to be used as a rubber ect. Its only small things and I relise that a wacom pen will never work on an iPad screen. i would however love the ability to plug my wacom in through the camera connection kit, I can't imagine it would be too hard as they have already managed to get the apple magic mouse to work on the iPad through jailbreaking, it should be possible.

Yes, and that's probably why HP abandoned the Windows slate and is now working on a webOS tablet. Tablets should use simple and instant-on OS.

Now that you mention that, I can see some uses for it, however I think from a usability stand point, you would definitily want to be drawing directly onto the ipad rather then onto the wacom. It would kind of defeat the purpose if you had to set the ipad up on a desk to use the wacom rather then doing it on the couch or in the car...

absolutely, for the most part sketching either using your finger or with some form of stylus straight onto the iPad screen is far better a it eliminates the need for hand/eye co-ordination and provides a much simpler setup. I just think for me personally it would be a really nice extra funciton for when I want to do some more professional sketches, they tend to look a bit c**p when you use your finger.

I read, or heard, that Jobs hates styluses after the Newton or something. I don't know if that's internet apocrypha, but it does make me wonder if that's the beginning and end of the subject.
