ok, so not everybody burns DVDs, but i still think its time to put the combo drive to death, even cheapo pcs come with dvd burners these days, they are so damn cheap, but apple seems to be holding on to them, if only to differenciate between model tears .stupid if you ask me. maube they'll kill em off when BD / HDDVD arrive. my 2 cents/pence. what do you think?

I think in Laptops DVD Burning drives are still quite expensive to make/buy. It's nice to have the option there. What does it matter to you if you can have a choice? What your basically saying is that you want a SuperDrive for the price of a Combo Drive... Then we're back to the age old 'Apple is too expensive'

10" of pure joy.
2GHz core 2 duo
100 GB ultra condensed flash HD.

Ay? Ay?

Close but I've thought about this:

11.1" display like the viao.
Low Voltage 1.5GHz L7400 with 4MB cache (to be released by Intel in january, just in time for a nice announcement).
Size allows for reasonably sized keyboard.

In fact the viao has a combo drive so actually no need to drop it (though I wish they would), so I've derailed this thread for nothing....oops
