I have a new iMAc, the hard drive on my old one exploded (ok, it died...with smoke and pops)

I have a replacement, I authorised my iTunes purchases and now it tells me I have 2 machines authorised...

...how can I deauthorise my old machine, now it's in mac heaven?

you can have up to 5 machines authorized so 2 will be fine. once you reach the 5, iirc, it will ask you if you want to deauthorize the others and you can choose to do so, but idk if it's possible to deauthorize one you can't use anymore.

thanks.

was a little worried as I stream to my PC in my living room, so when I reauthorise that that will be 3, then my iBook will be 4...just a little worried.

I think you can also call Apple to have them manually deauthorize a machine you don't have anymore, but last I heard the process was the same--they just deauthorize everything, and you reauthorize whichever computers you're still using. Since all that does is move the re-authorization hassle closer to now, and the machine is dead not sold, you're probably better off just waiting until it's necessary.
