I have had it jailbroken for the past month. I just switched up the theme for a glasskart theme and changed my font. I also use backgrounder, kirake for multitasking. Recently my phone has been acting up, freezing, apps shutting down automatically just normal jailbroken glitches. I just realized that it definitely is not running as smooth as it was when I originally had it and it was all stock.

I am debating on if it is worth going back, I only use pandora to run in the background really. Has anyone been in my boat before?

It must be problems with addons you installed thru cydia.
I have a jb 3GS and never gives me any glitches, freezes or random restarts.
Maybe try a restore and Then install just the stuff u need and use
the most.

i same here also suffer from a little slowness cus of the jailbroken iphone. sliding thru my springboard apps isnt smooth as it used to be, anyone else noticed this too?

Don't forget if you plan to jailbreak after you restore make sure you have your SHSH files on Cydia's servers. Otherwise you'll be stuck with unjailbreakable 3.1.3.

try this:
uninstall all your mobilesubstrate addons and keep the ones you use (backgrounder, etc.)

your phone should run faster

I do believe Winterboard can slow things down or use a lot of memory depending on what themes you have enabled, and things like Five-Column Springboard or Iconoclasm can do the same. (they are all mobilesubstrate addons)

Here's a good way to test if this will help:
if you have SBSettings installed, use it to enter safe mode (Power > Safe Mode)
It temporarily disables mobilesubstrate. See if it makes your iPhone perform better.

yeah this is why you need to be real careful on what you install. Cuz if the phone takes a dump and requires a restore, you're SOL on going JailBroken again.

I didn't do the restore. I just uninstalled all the things that I didn't need. It's running much smoother now.
