Debit cards not adding to Apple Pay message "not added"

After cleaning iphone and re installing all apps Wallet still wont add a debit card which it did before I changed my apple id.
Any ideas?

I have contacted the bank, and there is nothing wrong, what has changed since the card worked before is IOS 18.1.1 ! my guess it the introduced "card scanner" that was not thesre before, causing this mess. I can manage without it but its such a bloody PAIN! (working OK one minute) updated = crap!

First check your banking app... it should list devices linked to Apple. Remove device. Then set up again.

If that does not work, sometimes you need to contact the bank and they can do a fix their end for you to add.

Using the EMV chip to add a card has never failed for me.
