Debitel offers iPhone buyers 600 EUR

There's a cheaper route as well: customers who sign up their unlocked iPhones with Debitel are rewarded with a huge bonus, while only minor limits are to be expected.

With this Debitel equals out T-Mobile's punitive tariff duty for unlocking the iPhone in the first place, a company spokeswoman confirmed in Stuttgart last Thursday. [...]

Debitel's own tariffs will be announced this Wednesday, starting with Vario L, the cheapest plan for appx. 40 EUR which is said to include a data flatrate, 100 free minutes and 100 SMS text messages. No word on the use of T-Mobile's Hot Spots so far. Other rates will include 200 free minutes and 200 text messages.

According to Debitel, the only feature which will not be functional for obvious reasons will be Visual Voicemail. To ease switching for iPhone owners, Debitel shops will offer specific information for configuration and using the iPhone in other networks.

This is going to be interesting...
