Simply curious what stickers or decals everyone has thrown on their macbook covers, of any shape or size. Post some pics if you have any...

Nothing yet.

I've been thinking about buying some Macstyles in the future, though. Maybe after my warranty runs out (they're not supposed to do anything to the warranty, but I like to be on the safe side).

Hmm... My black Macbook has the Red Speck hard case on it with two decals so far:

BUY LOCAL
and
hmm... I think that I have the Roots' new album Game Theory sticker on it too.

I think stickers pretty much always look dumb. (no offense!)

Some laptops with laser-etching look really good though. There was also that one guy who painted his powerbook - that one was amazing.

I have a Radiohead sticker, a tv on the radio, the yeah yeah yeahs, starlight mints and my morning jacket. And I always thought that laptops with out stickers or "flare" always made the owner look chickens*** and severely anal(no offense). :p

I'm looking to buy a mac. imac or macbook pro?

I've become incredibly interested in the mac world in the past few months and have been waiting for the leapard release to buy my first mac. I've decided i can wait, but it's painful because it would be awesome to have one now!

I'm interested in using the mac for casual photo and video editing and was originally interested in the imacs but have thought about the macbook pro for portability on the road or in the classroom.

The portability would be nice, but the price tag takes a bit of a leap from a dazzled up imac to a macbook pro with similiar specs.

I was wondering if you guys think the macbook pro is sufficient for both editing photos (aperature), video (final cut express) and playing around with music (garage band). I don't really have the budget for an added display at the moment...maybe in the future...

I'm also interested to hear what you think the ideal screen size is 15 or 17 and if it should be the glossy widesreen or just regular.

as of now i'd like to get:

2.33 ghz 15"/17" macbook pro
2 gigs of mem
200 gig hard drive

Any advice?

Well, I don't have a MB or MBP but I skinned my PB a while back. Most MR members thought it was ugly and panned the idea of "desecrating" a Mac. I like it and that's all that's important to me, so here it is again.

Desecrating? Hardly. That doesn't look bad at all. I wouldn't put it on my MBP, but that has more to do with me being afraid of frogs. Looks good though.

stickers are for 14 year old girls. i keep my stuff clean. no need for clutter.

checks my id, well i'm a 23 year old male, and i think stickers are cool.
adding personality is a good thing. although i haven't really done it yet. there is a line between taste and tasteless though.

I'm 34 I and still like stickers!
It did take me 6 years to add two (TOOL - 10,000 Days cover sticker and a large cut Greenhaven one) to the side of my G4 though.

I would really like to have my MB painted. I would like a really cool theme that incorporates the apple logo and looks sweet. Not too simple but not noisy either. A cool theme. But I would like to have the rest of it painted the base color. Including the bottom! Nothing special on the bottom, just a base colour. Why do so few do it? I don't want JUST a decal, I want a WHOLE look. There is no point if there isn't a whole look. I know people say "You can't see the bottom" but with a laptop that is just not true, people do see the bottom. When you pick it up or move it, or whatever. It needs a complete look!

The good thing I like about the vinyl stick ons is that they come off and you can go back to the original look or when it gets beat up you can replace it or get a different one. That is really appealing to me.

I'd have a hard time painting my MB for the same reason I have a hard time thinking about getting a tattoo. It will be there forever so I need to get something that I REALLY like and I'd be really nervous about it and about the guy who paints it screwing up.

Just a thought.

Has anybody tried getting the iSkin or other clear skins for their MB or MBP and painting it? That would be a GREAT idea. I think it would be hard because the paint would come off SO easy... but maybe... if it was possible to do something like that it would be a REALLY good idea.

The same girls that think a 13 second civic is "cool" and "impressive." *cough* hondaswap *cough*

:D

Why is it every failed honduh boy racer I've met went from civic's to bikes to a truck?

Anyways I think stickers on your macbook's add character, that last one posted was pretty cute. ;)

I would really love to get something like this done:
kawslaptop.jpg

More designs here. I'm looking forward to seeing some more designs by Kaws.

If i was good at designing stuff, I would have my own custom one done by adafruit.

Even adverts would be cool:

Video of it being done here.
