So I am thinking about buying a macbook fairly soon but have alot of problems in mind. I am interested in the whole graphics part but also the games. Many of the games I play are PC only oriented but I have heard about the Boot camp program that allows you to install PC things, can someone explain this to me mor e thuroughly, thanks!

First off...welcome to Macrumors.

Second...you don't have to post a :( if people don't respond right away...be patient and people will post replies.

Here is a link to more information about Boot Camp. There is also Parallels, which will let you run the Mac OS and Windows at the same time. Look at those sites for more info. Also, use Search Forums to look for other threads about this topic.

By the sheer fact that you mentioned games I'm going to recommend
a desktop, not a Mac one, probably self assembled or bought from a manufacturer with a gaming focus, a $1000 Dell desktop probably won't be much more capable. (at least a £700-£800 Dell in the UK isn't)

If you are serious about PC gaming you should get a gaming desktop, if you want a laptop for general use, the Macbook will be fine.

The problem is that the graphics card in a Macbook, and other similarly priced laptops is the GMA950, which is OK for Half Life 2/Counterstrike, but games like Oblivion certainly won't run. TBH Even with an MBP you won't be able to run new PC games at all for more than maybe a year (especially as they haven't updated it since January 2006).

Enough of the negative, Bootcamp runs a full installation of Windows natively, it will be just as fast as a similarly spec'd PC.
